Plot Summary:

In a world where the Church governs society, humans live within walled cities, believing that the vampire menace has been eradicated. The Priests, once revered warriors, have been disbanded and marginalized.

One day, Owen Pace, the brother of the Priest, is attacked by vampires, and his daughter Lucy (Lily Collins) is kidnapped. Hicks (Cam Gigandet), a sheriff and Lucy’s boyfriend, seeks out the Priest for help. When the Church refuses to reinstate him, Priest defies their orders and leaves to hunt down the vampires responsible.

Joined by Hicks and later by Priestess (Maggie Q), another former warrior, Priest tracks the vampires to an old reservation. They soon discover that the vampires are no longer acting under their traditional hierarchy but are now led by Black Hat (Karl Urban), a former Priest who was turned into a powerful human-vampire hybrid by the vampires’ Queen.

Black Hat plans to unleash an army of vampires on the human cities by using a hijacked train to breach the city walls. Priest and his allies engage in a final battle aboard the train, where he ultimately kills Black Hat by throwing him into the sun. Priest then derails the train before it reaches the city, preventing a full-scale vampire invasion.

In the aftermath, Priest confronts the Church, who still refuses to acknowledge the continued vampire threat. He leaves to hunt down the remaining vampires, setting up a potential sequel.
