Lucifer Morningstar, the Devil, bored and discontented with his life as the ruler of Hell, abandons his throne and moves to Los Angeles. There, he opens a high-end nightclub called Lux and begins enjoying a hedonistic lifestyle. However, things take a turn when he gets involved in a murder investigation and ends up working with LAPD detective Chloe Decker as a civilian consultant.
Over time, Lucifer struggles with questions of identity, redemption, love, and morality, especially as he develops romantic feelings for Chloe. Alongside crime-solving, the show dives deep into celestial politics, biblical mythology, and family drama among angels, demons, and God Himself.
