He’s got something to prove. Again
It’s been nearly 20 years since NASCAR legend Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) left the track in a trail of glory and absurdity. Now, semi-retired and running a chaotic chain of driving schools with his best friend Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly), Ricky’s fame has faded, his sponsorship deals have dried up, and he’s grappling with a world that no longer runs on horsepower or mullets.

But when NASCAR unveils a revolutionary new electric racing division — the EVX Cup — promising faster speeds and global competition, Ricky gets the itch. Against all odds (and better judgment), he decides to make the ultimate comeback… in a car that doesn’t even rumble.
To help him modernize, Ricky turns to his old rival Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen), now a zen-like racing guru who teaches mindfulness and aerodynamics in equal measure. Enter Lexi Blaze (Awkwafina), a brash, ultra-talented young driver and Ricky’s unexpected new teammate… or maybe his biggest obstacle yet.
With international rivalries, self-driving sabotage, and an over-the-top billionaire villain threatening to turn NASCAR into a livestreamed circus, Ricky must rediscover what it truly means to “go fast” — and bring the “Shake and Bake” back to life, one ridiculous pit stop at a time.
